Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 20261. What We Collect
We collect information needed to operate MyExpenses, including account details such as name, email address, login method, subscription status, and application settings.
For the standard web app workflow, your bank activity file is read, parsed, categorized, reviewed, and exported in your browser. The file and raw transaction rows are not uploaded to MyExpenses servers.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to provide the service, prepare expense reports, apply categorization rules, manage subscriptions, improve the product, prevent abuse, and respond to support or account requests.
3. Bank Files and Transaction Data
Your bank activity file never leaves your browser in the standard web app flow. MyExpenses does not receive, store, sell, or send your bank file or raw transaction data to AI providers or third-party categorization services.
4. Saved Rules
If you have access to saved Smart Rules and choose to remember a categorization rule, MyExpenses stores a merchant key, selected category, and rule settings so similar expense transactions can be categorized in future browser uploads. Saved Smart Rules are designed not to store raw transaction descriptions, dates, amounts, balances, or full reports.
5. Payments
Payments and subscriptions may be handled by PayPal. We do not store full payment card details. PayPal may provide subscription identifiers, payment status, and related billing information needed to manage your account.
6. Authentication
You may log in with email/password or Google OAuth if enabled. For Google login, we receive basic profile information such as your email address and display name.
7. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share account, authentication, billing, support, security, or service-operation information with service providers needed to operate the application, process payments, host the service, comply with law, or protect the service and users. We do not send your browser-processed bank file to AI providers or third-party categorization services.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, so you should use strong passwords and protect your account access.
9. Data Retention
We retain account, billing, support, security, preference, and saved Smart Rule data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain business records. Because the standard web app workflow processes your bank file in the browser, MyExpenses does not retain that file or its raw transaction rows from that workflow. You may request deletion of account data where applicable.
10. Your Choices
You can choose not to save categorization rules. You can also cancel paid subscriptions through the available payment flow. If you want to access, correct, or delete account information, contact us at support@myexpenses.io.
11. Cookies and Similar Technologies
MyExpenses may use cookies or similar technologies for login sessions, security, preferences, and subscription/account functionality.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
